Accounting and Auditing Partner
MEYERS, HARRISON & PIA, LLC

Present Position
Michele is the partner in charge of the accounting and auditing division. She reviews all financial statements, including compilations, reviews, and audits, to ensure proper compliance with industry pronouncements. In addition, she works with many small to medium-sized closely held businesses and individual clients providing consulting, tax planning, and tax preparation services. Michele is responsible for planning and supervising certified audits, due diligence and forensic accounting investigations, internal control audits, reviews, and compilations for a diverse client base. She is the firm's quality control director, which involves maintaining the firm's unqualified opinion.

Academic and Professional Credentials
Michele holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Connecticut State University. She has attended significant hours of continuing professional education necessary to fulfill license requirements and beyond. Her concentration has been in the areas of accounting, auditing, tax, and financial reporting. Michele is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Connecticut. She has been an instructor for seminars on various topics of public accounting, including quality review, workpaper techniques, writing techniques, personal property taxes, etc., specific to accounting engagements, how to start a small business in Connecticut, and job interviewing techniques.

Michele has practiced public accounting since 1988. A partial listing of the industries encompassing the client base of which she is in-charge is as follows: construction contractors, food services, waste recovery, manufacturers, service industries, and emergency medical services.

Professional Affiliations
Michele is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Society of Women Accountants. She has served on the Accounting and Review Services Technical Committee of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and was the Program Committee Chairperson and a Director on the Board of the American Society of Women Accountants.
